Provider prices as shown on their websites, September 2026. Converted at 1 USD = 0.8257 CHF, rounded. The price per minute is a calculation: monthly price divided by the minutes included. Where a provider states different minutes per month and per year, a range is shown.
How to read the table
Providers charge in different ways: per month with a quota of minutes, per person, or as part of a larger licence. So the price per minute is only a rough guide. For Dolmi, the table shows the price of live minutes, in which Dolmi translates speech. One live minute costs 2 credits; one minute of text, audio or video, 1 credit.
The “German ↔ English” column shows whether an offer translates this pair directly, based on what the provider publishes. Where the provider doesn’t make this clear, the table says “No clear information”. There’s more on Google Meet and Teams in the next section.
Transync AI is much cheaper per minute than Dolmi: the Personal Premium subscription costs USD 8.99 a month for 600 minutes. If you translate many hours a month, you’ll pay less there. The Interpreter in Teams also works out cheaper per minute if you already have a Microsoft 365 Copilot licence: it includes 20 hours of interpretation per person per month, but only works in Teams.
English, German and the built-in features
Dolmi translates four pairs, all with German: German ↔ English, German ↔ Spanish, German ↔ Portuguese (Brazil) and German ↔ French.
Google Meet’s speech translation translates between English and French, German, Hindi, Italian, Portuguese or Spanish, in a voice similar to your own. It’s included in Google AI Pro and Ultra, in several Google Workspace subscriptions such as Business Standard and Plus, and in a few other plans; the table lists them all. For a conversation in English and German in Meet, that’s a built-in alternative at no extra cost if you already have one of these subscriptions. According to Google, a meeting can use only one language pair, with a 90-minute limit per meeting, and the feature doesn’t help outside Meet.
The Interpreter agent in Teams also covers English and German, among other languages. It needs a Microsoft 365 Copilot licence and only works in Teams.
Where Dolmi is different
- German at the centre. Every pair has German on one side, in both directions. In a conversation, whoever wants to talk taps “I’ll speak”; in a call, the way you choose sets the direction.
- Voice and subtitles. Your sentences go into the call as a voice, and you read the replies as subtitles. JotMe and Zoom’s translation only give you subtitles.
- Any call app. Dolmi doesn’t depend on Teams, Meet or Zoom but on a virtual microphone, which any app that lets you choose a microphone can use.
- Without a call, too. With a face-to-face conversation, the phone lies on the table between two people. That’s not a video call, so it isn’t in the table.
- Browser instead of installation. Apart from the virtual cable for your voice in a call, you don’t install anything; Dolmi runs in the browser.
- Swiss francs, no subscription required. Prices in CHF, credit packs without a subscription, and subscriptions you can cancel monthly.
Where others offer more
- Palabra, Talo and Transync translate between around 60 languages, according to the providers. Dolmi translates four pairs, all with German.
- The features in Teams, Meet and Zoom are built into the call app. They don’t need a virtual cable, but they do need the right licence and platform.
- For German ↔ English in Google Meet, the right Google subscription already gives you speech translation at no extra cost.
- Transync and, with an existing Copilot licence, the Interpreter in Teams cost less per minute.
