# Dolmi

> Dolmi translates between English and German in both directions, and also German ↔ Spanish, German ↔ Portuguese (Brazil) and German ↔ French; every pair has German on one side. The app first asks what you want to do and offers four ways: (1) Face-to-face conversation: one phone on the table between two people, split screen (the top half turned towards the other person), whoever wants to talk taps “I’ll speak” on their half first (no automatic language detection), Dolmi says the translation out loud in the pause and shows it in large text on the listener’s half, no setup, in the phone’s browser. (2) Understand a call: the phone next to the laptop listens and shows subtitles, or on a computer you share the tab or screen with audio and the subtitles appear in a floating window. (3) Speak in a call in the other language yourself: only on a PC or Mac (Chrome or Edge), the translated AI voice goes through a virtual microphone (VB-Cable or BlackHole) into Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet or any app that lets you choose a microphone; the app guides the one-time setup with a test tone. (4) Translate a text or a file: spoken translation (MP3), text and SRT subtitles. In a call, the way you choose sets the direction: subtitles translate into your language, the voice into the language of the others. No voice cloning. The first 60 seconds of conversation or live translation are free. Prices in CHF: subscriptions from CHF 9.90 per month, credit packs without a subscription from CHF 4.90. 1 credit = 1 minute of text, audio or video; 1 minute live (call or face-to-face conversation) = 2 credits. Payments are processed by Stripe.
